These sculptures represent abstract human figures aspiring to space and explore the universe. 'To Open the Way to the Stars' embodies the optimism and desires of the period to push the boundaries of human knowledge and capabilities through the exploration of the cosmos.
One of his most famous works is the "Fallen Astronaut", a small aluminium sculpture of an astronaut that he had placed on the Moon during the Apollo 15 mission in 1971. This artwork was installed as a tribute to deceased astronauts, making it the first artwork to be located outside Earth.

Marina Pinsky divides her time between Brussels and Berlin. Pinsky earned her BFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts in 2008, and her MFA at UCLA in 2012. She has exhibited her work in numerous group and solo shows throughout North America, Europe, and has art in the permanent collection of the MoMA in New York. Working across two and three-dimensional, Pinsky creates art that engages with and prompts questioning of the viewer’s concept of the observed world as something genuine and constant.
