Sustainability
What does decarbonized mean?
For Eco Core, “97% decarbonized” means that 97% of its composition consists of recycled, mineral or biobased materials, leaving only 3% virgin fossil content.
What does the recycled material consist of?
Recycled material is used in both the flooring construction and its acoustic underlay. Eco Core contains 55% recycled content, while the integrated Greenfelt underlay is made from 93% recycled PET. ntgrate also collects and recycles cutting and production waste. Composition can vary between product constructions.
What is the impact of biobased PVC on the quality?
Biobased PVC replaces part of the virgin fossil PVC without changing the flooring’s intended performance. Eco Core retains Class 33 durability, Bfl-s1 fire performance and acoustic Greenfelt underlay. “Biobased” describes the origin of part of the raw material; it does not mean that the flooring is biodegradable.
What is the carbon footprint of an ntgrate floor?
The carbon footprint depends on the selected construction, transport, installation method, service life and end-of-life scenario. For an accurate value, consult the current product-specific Environmental Product Declaration rather than using one general figure for every ntgrate floor. The declared unit and lifecycle stages must always accompany any published result.
Can an ntgrate floor be recycled?
Yes. ntgrate woven flooring is recyclable. Actual recycling depends strongly on collection, contamination and the installation method. Permanently bonded flooring can be difficult to separate from adhesive and substrate residues. Glue-free installation using REntgrate tabs helps preserve the material for reuse.
Can an ntgrate floor be re-used?
Yes. Tiles installed without permanent adhesive can be removed, cleaned and installed in another location. The REntgrate system uses tabs to secure the tiles while keeping both flooring and subfloor largely free from adhesive contamination. Correct maintenance and careful dismantling are essential if the flooring is intended for reuse.
Does ntgrate contain recycled content?
Yes. Recycled content is incorporated in both the woven layers as in the Greenfelt acoustic underlay. Current Eco Core technical information lists 55% recycled content, while Greenfelt contains 93% recycled PET. Exact composition differs by construction, so figures should always be taken from the selected product’s current technical datasheet.
What percentage of the floor is recycled or biobased?
Current Eco Core technical information lists 55% recycled content and 19% biobased content. A further 23% consists of mineral content, leaving only 3% virgin fossil raw material. Its integrated Greenfelt acoustic underlay is made from 93% recycled PET. These percentages should not automatically be applied to other ntgrate constructions.
The percentages can always be found on technical data sheets in the download section of our website.
What happens to ntgrate flooring at the end of its life?
Where possible, ntgrate prioritises reuse over recycling. Flooring installed with REntgrate tabs can be removed, cleaned and reused in another project. Material that cannot be reused may be collected for specialist recycling, subject to its condition and local availability. Permanently bonded flooring is more difficult to recover because of adhesive contamination.
Does ntgrate have an EPD?
Yes. ntgrate publishes environmental product documentation, including EPD information prepared according to EN 15804. Contact us on info@ntgrate.eu or through our contact page and we will provide you with the latest available EPD.
What is Eco Core?
Eco Core is ntgrate’s lower-fossil flooring construction. It contains 55% recycled material, 23% mineral content, 19% biobased content and only 3% virgin fossil raw material. It retains key performance characteristics including Class 33 durability, Bfl-s1 fire classification and integrated Greenfelt acoustic underlay.
What is biobased PVC?
Biobased PVC is PVC made partly from renewable biological origin instead of relying entirely on fossil raw materials. It maintains the functional characteristics required for durable woven flooring. Biobased PVC is not biodegradable, and it should not be confused with recycled PVC; the terms describe different ways of reducing dependence on virgin fossil resources.
Can ntgrate contribute to BREEAM or LEED certification?
Yes. ntgrate documentation may support credits relating to low emissions, material transparency, environmental declarations or responsible material selection. However, an individual flooring product cannot certify a building. The project’s BREEAM or LEED assessor must evaluate the current product-specific documents against the applicable scheme version and targeted credits.
What SDG's does ntgrate work on?
ntgrate currently links its sustainability actions to six UN Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 4, Quality Education; SDG 8, Decent Work and Economic Growth; SDG 11, Sustainable Cities and Communities; SDG 12, Responsible Consumption and Production; SDG 16, Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions; and SDG 17, Partnerships for the Goals.
Acoustics
How much impact sound does ntgrate flooring reduce?
Impact sound is structure-borne noise transmitted to lower rooms.
An ntgrate floor with the integrated Greenfelt acoustic underlay will reduce impact sound by 19dB as standard.
Every ntgrate floor is equipped with the Greenfelt underlay. The Colours and Design collection is also available with a 22 dB version of this underlay.
What is the difference between impact sound and walking sound?
Impact sound is the noise transmitted through the floor construction to another room, often the space below.
Walking sound is the direct noise heard in the same room when footsteps contact the floor.
Does ntgrate reduce walking noise in the room?
Yes. The woven surface and integrated Greenfelt underlay soften the walking noise produced by footsteps.
ntgrate flooring has a walking noise value of 67 or 71 dB.
What is the integrated acoustic Greenfelt underlay?
Greenfelt is ntgrate's integrated acoustic underlay, made almost entirely from recycled PET. Because it is integrated in the flooring, no separate acoustic layer is required.
Greenfelt provides 19 or 22 dB impact-sound reduction while also dampening walking noise within the room.
Design
Can different ntgrate designs and colours be combined?
Yes! All ntgrate flooring has the same excellent quality and thickness*. We love seeing our colours and woven patterns being combined by architects and designers to create unique interiors.
Introduce zoning or guide the flow of visitors by intelligent use of colours and patterns.
*The integrated Greenfelt underlay has to be the same. The 19 dB and 22 dB version can not be mixed due to different thickness.
Are samples representative of the final installed floor?
Our standard sample is 15x15 centimeter. This can show you the colours and character of the selected design but it can not reproduce the larger woven patterns that are typical for an ntgrate woven floor.
If you need larger samples then get in touch with us on info@ntgrate.eu to receive a larger sample or multiple samples.
Will there be colour variations between production batches?
Minor colour variations can occur between production batches. Order the full project quantity including an allowance for future replacement from one batch.
During installation check our batch references and use the same batch in the same room.
Keep some spare tiles from the same batch to avoid visible difference when a tile needs to be replaced.
Product
What size is ntgrate available in?
ntgrate is available in 500 × 500 mm tiles and rolls approximately 200–202 cm wide. Selected collections are also available as 1,000 × 250 mm planks, Versatile shapes or custom-sized rugs.
Available formats, thicknesses and roll lengths vary by collection, so always check the relevant technical datasheet.
Is the flooring acoustic?
Yes. ntgrate flooring includes an integrated Greenfelt acoustic backing. Standard products reduce impact sound by 19 dB, while selected 22 dB versions provide additional acoustic performance.
Depending on the construction, walking-noise values are approximately 71 or 67 dB. The woven surface also helps reduce reverberation within the room.
What is the fire rating of ntgrate flooring?
ntgrate woven flooring has a European reaction-to-fire classification of Bfl-s1. This means it makes a limited contribution to fire and produces little smoke during the relevant test.
Suitability for a particular building or escape route must still be assessed against local regulations and the complete project specification.
Is it suitable for intensive use?
Yes. ntgrate woven flooring is classified as Class 33 under EN 1307, making it suitable for intensive commercial use. It is designed for demanding interiors such as offices, hotels, shops, schools and public buildings.
Correct installation, entrance protection and regular maintenance are essential for long-term performance.
Is ntgrate flooring suitable for underfloor heating?
Yes. ntgrate flooring is suitable for use with underfloor heating. Its low thermal resistance allows heat to pass efficiently through the floor.
Is the floor anti-static?
ntgrate technical data reports resistance to static charge of no more than 2 kV, helping to minimise noticeable static electricity during normal use. However, ntgrate is not a specialist conductive or electrostatic-dissipative floor. Areas containing sensitive electronics or medical equipment may require a dedicated electrical-resistance specification.
Is an ntgrate floor waterproof?
ntgrate flooring is water resistant and does not allow water to penetrate. The flooring has a waterproof barrier and can be wet-cleaned, but the complete installation is not automatically waterproof. Water may pass through joints, seams and perimeter edges and reach the subfloor. Wet or humid areas therefore require a water-resistant substrate, suitable adhesive and correctly detailed joints and edges.
Are the designs printed?
No. ntgrate’s designs are created by weaving mass-coloured vinyl yarns rather than printing an image onto the surface. The colour runs through the yarn, helping the flooring retain its appearance during use and cleaning. Different yarn colours, structures and weaving patterns create the final design.
Can ntgrate be used outdoors?
Standard ntgrate flooring is intended for indoor installation and should not be used outdoors. Exterior conditions expose the floor and adhesive to moisture, temperature changes and sunlight beyond a normal interior specification. ntgrate’s dedicated loose-lay woven vinyl rugs are an exception and are designed for both indoor and outdoor use.
Is the flooring resistant to mould?
The non-absorbent woven vinyl surface does not provide nutrients that encourage mould growth. However, mould can still develop on accumulated dirt or beneath the flooring if moisture becomes trapped in the installation. Correct subfloor preparation, moisture control, cleaning and drying remain essential, particularly in humid areas.
What about the use of castor chairs?
ntgrate technical information confirms suitability for intensive castor-chair use. Use clean, undamaged castors suitable for resilient flooring, and remove grit that could abrade the woven surface. The subfloor and adhesive must adequately support the rolling load.
Specialist equipment or unusually heavy chairs may require a project-specific assessment.
Is an ntgrate floor UV-resistant?
Yes. With a UV-resistance value of at least 7, ntgrate supports good colour stability under normal indoor conditions. However, prolonged or uneven exposure to intense sunlight can affect any flooring over time.
Appropriate blinds or solar-control glazing can help prevent uneven ageing in strongly exposed interiors.
What about heavy objects or furniture?
Heavy furniture can be placed on ntgrate flooring when the load is properly distributed. Use broad, non-staining protective pads beneath furniture legs and avoid sharp or concentrated point loads. Lift furniture instead of dragging it. Very heavy equipment should be assessed together with the subfloor and adhesive system before installation.
What is the wear classification of ntgrate flooring?
ntgrate woven flooring is classified as Class 33 under EN 1307. This classification indicates suitability for intensive commercial use, including busy offices, hotels, shops, schools and public buildings. Long-term performance still depends on selecting the correct product, preparing the subfloor properly and following ntgrate’s installation and maintenance instructions.
What is the slip resistance of ntgrate flooring?
ntgrate has an R9 or R10 slip rating, both excellent values for commercial use. Actual slip performance can be affected by water, grease, dirt, footwear and incorrect cleaning.
Always confirm the current classification for the selected collection and assess whether it meets the specific legal and safety requirements of the intended area.
Is ntgrate suitable for wet areas?
ntgrate can be used in certain humid areas, but it is not automatically suitable for every wet-room application. Showers, permanently wet spaces and areas requiring drainage need a separate technical assessment. The substrate, adhesive, joints, perimeter detailing, slip resistance and cleaning requirements must all be appropriate for the intended use.
Is ntgrate suitable for wheelchair use?
Yes. ntgrate’s firm, low-profile woven surface and Class 33 durability make it suitable for wheelchair circulation in properly designed interiors. Accessibility also depends on smooth transitions, secure installation and correctly detailed joints and thresholds.
Areas with frequent powered-wheelchair, trolley or medical-equipment traffic may require a project-specific assessment.
Does ntgrate flooring discolour over time?
ntgrate uses mass-coloured yarns, meaning the colour runs through the yarn rather than being applied only to the surface. This provides good colour stability, supported by strong UV resistance. Nevertheless, intense uneven sunlight, unsuitable chemicals, neglected stains or material from different production batches may cause visible colour differences.
What is the expected lifespan of an ntgrate floor?
The lifespan depends on traffic, installation quality, entrance protection, cleaning and the suitability of the selected product. ntgrate offers a 15-year warranty subject to its terms and conditions, but this is not a fixed product lifespan. A correctly specified and maintained floor may remain serviceable beyond the warranty period.
Where can I find the technical datasheet?
Technical datasheets for the different ntgrate constructions and acoustic backings are available on the ntgrate downloads page. Select the datasheet for the exact collection and format being specified, as dimensions, composition and performance values may differ. Always use the latest published version.
Is ntgrate suitable for offices?
Yes. ntgrate is well suited to offices because it combines Class 33 durability with acoustic comfort, easy maintenance and extensive design options. The integrated Greenfelt underlay reduces impact and walking noise, while tiles allow local replacement if damage occurs.

Operating theatres, emergency departments, showers and other specialist areas may require additional hygiene, slip-resistance or technical evaluation.
Is ntgrate suitable for schools and educational buildings?
Yes. ntgrate combines Class 33 durability with acoustic comfort and easy maintenance, making it suitable for classrooms, libraries, corridors, staff areas and communal spaces. The integrated Greenfelt acoustic underlay reduces impact and walking noise. The selected product and installation must still reflect the traffic, furniture, cleaning and safety requirements of each area.
Is ntgrate suitable for gyms and fitness environments?
ntgrate can be used in suitable gyms, studios and wellness interiors, offering Class 33 durability, R10 slip resistance and acoustic comfort. Areas exposed to heavy weights, impact equipment, persistent moisture or specialist hygiene requirements need separate assessment.
Protective measures may be required beneath machines and free-weight zones.
Is ntgrate stain resistant?
Yes. The mass-coloured woven vinyl yarns prevent most spills from penetrating the surface, making stains easier to remove. Nevertheless, grease, paint and strongly pigmented substances can cause permanent discolouration if left untreated, so spills should always be cleaned immediately.

Maintenance
How do I clean an ntgrate floor?
Cleaning your ntgrate floor is easy. For daily cleaning, simply vacuum to remove dust and dirt.
For a deeper clean, use water and a medium-hard brush or an injection-extraction machine with vertically rotating brushes. Remove the dirty water immediately to avoid stains or rings.
For detailed instructions, check our maintenance guides.
How often do I clean my ntgrate floor?
Cleaning frequency depends on traffic and soiling. Vacuum daily in busy areas and less frequently in lightly used spaces. Remove spills and stains immediately. Schedule periodic wet or deep cleaning when vacuuming alone no longer restores the floor’s appearance. Entrances, hospitality areas and other high-traffic zones will require more frequent maintenance.
What cleaning products can I use?
Use clean water for routine cleaning. For persistent stains, use a diluted pH-neutral cleaner suitable for indoor flooring; diluted bleach may also be used when required. Always rinse thoroughly to remove residue. Never use acetone or other aggressive solvents, as they can permanently damage the woven vinyl surface. Follow ntgrate’s stain-removal guide for specific substances.
Which cleaning machine can I use?
Use an injection-extraction machine with vertically rotating, medium-hard brushes and effective water recovery. For areas larger than 50 m², ntgrate recommends a professional cleaning machine; suitable compact equipment can be used for smaller areas.
Never use machines with horizontally rotating brushes, as these may damage the woven surface and void the warranty.
What if a tile or part of my floor got damaged?
If the floor is installed as tiles, individual damaged tiles can usually be removed and replaced. Keep spare tiles from the same production batch and match the original laying direction. For roll installations, the affected area may require complete replacement. Contact an experienced installer to assess the damage and carry out the repair correctly.
Can I use disinfectants on an ntgrate floor?
Yes. ntgrate flooring is resistant to regular use of suitable disinfectants and can also be disinfected with steam. Clean the floor before disinfecting, follow the product manufacturer’s concentration and contact-time instructions, and rinse when required. Avoid high-pH products, as they may damage or discolour the woven vinyl surface.
How do I remove stains?
Treat stains immediately. Moisten the area with water, gently scrub it using a medium-hard brush, rinse and absorb the excess water with a clean, dry cloth. Repeat if necessary. For persistent stains, use a diluted pH-neutral cleaner and rinse thoroughly. Never use acetone. Oil or paint stains may require replacement of the affected tile or section.
Do stains penetrate the woven surface?
Most spills and stains do not penetrate the mass-coloured woven vinyl yarns, making them relatively easy to remove. However, dirt can settle within the woven texture, while grease and strongly pigmented substances may cause permanent discolouration if left untreated. Clean spills immediately and extract all dirty water thoroughly.
Can an ntgrate floor be steam cleaned?
Yes. ntgrate flooring can be cleaned and disinfected using steam. Keep the machine moving and do not treat the same area for more than five minutes at temperatures above 100°C. Prolonged exposure to high heat may damage the flooring. Always follow the steam cleaner’s operating instructions.
